The California State University's Accessible Technology Initiative honored the EnACT project at Sonoma State University with the Special ATI Partnership Award.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, as a Demonstration Project to Ensure Students with Disabilities Receive a Quality Higher Education, the mission of EnACT is to support students with disabilities within the CSU in attaining their postsecondary educational goals.
The CDL is an original partner of the EnAct project.
The Visual Resources Association honored the CSU IMAGE Project and it's developer Kathleen Cohen with their Nancy Delaurier Award. The Nancy DeLaurier Award, named for one of the pioneers of the visual resources profession, annually honors a visual resources professional for distinguished achievement in the field.
The IMS Global Learning Consortium's Learning Impact Awards are designed to recognize the most
impactful use of technology worldwide in support of learning. The California State University (CSU) Math and English Success Websites and the CSU Fresno Fast Forward Program were recognized with the 2007 LIA Gold Award.
The Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunications (WCET) gave the CSU its 2006 Outstanding Work Award for its Math Success and English Success websites, which were designed by CDL to help students prepare for the Entry Level Mathematics and English Placement Tests they must take after being admitted to the CSU.
January 2, 2004: Artwork developed for the Conference of Academic Technology Staff (CATS) 2003 takes top honors in the poster category of the Design Authority's Annual Design Competition. The poster designs feature the traditional CATS logo cat and were used to promote the CATS 2003 conference.
Summer 2003: The Center for Distributed Learning funded a CATS-TIGERS grant allowing the development of the Telly Award winning video, "Know Your Users: Web Accessibility from the User's Perspective". This highlights the computer tools and methods used by persons with disabilities, and provides those who create Web pages with a deeper understanding of users' experiences. Spring 2003: CENIC (Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California)-- The "On the Road to A Gigabit Awards" honor California visionaries who are applying network technology in innovative ways to encourage the development and implementation of a ubiquitous gigabit state-wide network. Light Bridge is being recognized under the Partnership Award which honors the best use of high-performance networking developed by a private/public partnership, showcasing the "pioneering ideas of today's visionaries and the promise of tomorrow's Internet."

New Media Centers presented CDL with the prestigious 2002 Center of Excellence Award at the 2002 NMC Summer Conference held at Ohio State University, June 19-22. Five NMC colleges were recognized as Centers of Excellence in a new recognition program sponsored by the NMC. The NMC brings forward-thinking colleges and universities together with innovative high-tech companies to explore new ways of teaching, learning, and creative expression. The Centers of Excellence Awards are a sort of "Lifetime Achievement Award" for NMCs. An Adobe Acrobat version of the Official Program distributed at the Awards is available.
In 1998 the American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC) and State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO) named the CDL as one of seven Best Practices sites in the nation in "Faculty Instructional Development: Supporting Faculty Use of Technology in Teaching." APQC and SHEEO representatives visited the CDL in preparation of their benchmarking study report. The CDL Site Visit Report (available in PDF format) was compiled with the help of the APQC.
